ANNEX 1 Constituted 11 July 1942 in the Army of the United States as the 11th Armored Regiment and assigned to the 10th Armored Division Activated 15 July 1942 at Fort Benning, Georgia, with personnel and equipment from the 11th Cavalry Regiment broken up 20 September 1943 and its elements reorganized and redesignated a follows: Regiment (less the 3d Battalion, Band, and Maintenance, Service, and Reconnaissance Companies) as the 11th Tank Battalion, an element of the 10th Armored Division 3d Battalion as the 712th Tank Battalion and relieved from assignment to the 10th Armored Division Maintenance and Service Companies and Band disbanded (Reconnaissance Company as Troop E, 90th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, Mechanized - hereafter separate lineage) After 20 September 1943 the above units underwent changes as follows: 11th Tank Battalion inactivated 13 October 1945 at Camp
